[iii] Tell Me a Story—Narrative and Intelligence by Roger C. Schank © 1998 Northwestern University Press, Evanston, IL
It became clear somewhere during the process of integrating human systems that stories are the alpha and omega of human thought and
connection. Roger Schank[iii], while exploring and developing artificial intelligence, concluded that for computers to think like
people, they must think in stories, as people think in stories. I began to use stories in my human systems integration efforts. What
was exposed, while on this path, were sides of myself set aside for much of my life. My writer and poet were sidetracked for
many years.
My writing now focuses on the retelling of the Arthurian Legends (The Mandalan Chronicles), a unique rendition designed to provide a mirror to consider ourselves as individuals and organizations in the 21st Century through the lens of the 5th Century. The Legends provide a massive and intriguing community of stories and characters to view the human condition.
