. . fragmentation is now very widespread, not only throughout society, but also in each individual; and this is leading to a kind of general confusion of the mind, which creates an endless series of problems and interferes with our clarity of perception so seriously as to prevent us from being able to solve most of them.
Answering the Crisis of Fragmentation
The Mandalan Quest is a quest for wholeness of individual, community, and societal life
One of Stephen Covey's recommended 'Habits of Highly Successful People,' is to "start with the end in mind." For many activities this is good advice. But no advice is useful all the time for all purpose. Sometimes we must wade into the unknown with no more than a feeling or a prickle of discontent calling us to take that first step. There may be little understanding of the destination or the trials and tribulations that await on the journey. It is also possible to take that first step with no recognition of having done so.
What is resident in the decision to move in a direction is a sense of purpose, even if that purpose cannot be articulated. Also, there is a sense of how, even if that means to purpose is faintly known. The result is a dream essence and the faith that knowledge, relationships, and wherewithal can be developed to achieve that dream. Underlying this is a set of values and principles that guide the goals, plans, and activities necessary to secure the path.

The work represented at this site began by wading into familiar waters; two systems, I knew well, would gain worth and sustainability if they were integrated. It was like splashing in the water's on a familiar beach. And then the undertoe with the hope to calm the frequent irritation to do something to address the situation stated in the story below. Had I been able to see the current creation or understand the journey I would have been hard pressed to take the first step. In discovering new land, I have lost sight of the shore for a very long time. Here is a view from the top of the current configuration. The names evolved over various iterations and evolutions as the work formed.
Then when we find shore it is not the shore we left and we are of different mind and heart than when we began the journey.
“One doesn’t discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time.”
